Adidas brought The Drums to JHB last month in collaboration with we-are-awesome; who really are awesome as they let me get in there to take some snaps. Rad show.

Personal
So this is probably the most personal picture I have taken. Its one of my images that doesn't really make much sense or speak about about one thing.
What you see is a FORK being used as a spoon. A SPOON being used as a knife and a KNIFE being used as a fork.
What it is to me, in one sentence, is a representation of the fucked up miss-use of things in the world.
I don't want to be specific. Its a disturbance in my mind.
Sundays in the city
Sundays in the city is....obviously on a Sunday, but it's where people gather in an area known as Maboneng to drink, chill, chat, eat. This was one of the goers I met there, jumping for joy! Ironic because I normally suffer severely from Sunday blues, this type of thing makes it fun.

Kids in Orange Farm and JHB in Town.
The above photographs were taken during the filming of the new LV feat Okmalukoolkat music video of the local kids in orange farm watching and wondering what the hell we were doing there.
This shot was taken while waiting for crew members also during the filming of the LV feat Okmalumkoolkat music video, I like to wonder around and he was sitting on the stair waiting for his mom. I loved how the light was falling on his body.

LV feat Okmalumkoolkat: Sebenza Music Video: Behind the scene stills
I am assisting a photographer Chris Saunders (whatwasparadise.com) and so have been exposed to the most amazing projects. Recently Chris directed the new music video for LV feat Okmalumkoolkat: Sebenza, from Dirty Paraffin. It also features The Isikhothane's and what goes down in the Orange Farm area during the weekends....the crazy car tricks performed as public entertainment.
It was a privelige to be surrounded by such talented people Miles Goodall, the cinematographer, his son Lee Goodall assisting him, Chris Saunders and all the guys in the crew. I was DIT for the day aswell as taking behind the scene stills.
An experience like this, for me, is so different to what I am used to, coming from such a sheltered background I am absolutely mesmerized by all of it, which I think makes me alot less numb to everything happening around me. The video is such a good showcase of the richness of South Africa's vibe and people. I cannot get enough!
